There is a long tradition of promoting feminism within the Faculty of Education and Social Work. Our commitment to equality dates back to the center's origins, with various programs of activities linking its inception to the beginning of the democratic transition.
Gender training is carried out across the board in the subjects of the curriculum and has specific content in the syllabuses. This knowledge is complemented by a wide range of university outreach activities organized by the entire educational community and promoted by both teachers and students.
Parity was observed in the creation of the various governing bodies and working committees, as demonstrated by the years of existence of the Faculty, in which two women held the position of dean for 12 years. In addition, the Faculty's teaching and research team is made up of a large group of specialists in gender perspective, who carry out research work with a significant social impact.
To break with the invisibility of women in language, the Faculty is committed to using inclusive terms both publicly (website, social media, posters, teaching, radio programs, etc.) and internally (quality reports, minutes, meetings of different bodies, institutional emails, etc.). At the same time, to highlight women's contributions throughout history, the center developed a campaign to feminize the names of its emblematic spaces.
